Ok, you've got some workable ideas here. I don't know which way you're leaning or what materials you have to work with, the dial at the top, the little screw and socket, the keyhole- all three of those have some good potential. Consider what materials you have to work with that might help you lean one way or another, how you might create highs and lows- elevated or incised or recessed areas, how you might use texture to differentiate different areas and imply depth.
